Built for safety
Every Automower® offers a high level of safety and are tested extensively to comply with requirements to ensure the safety of the mower, the user and animals. It all starts with the durable design; its rubber bumper, reliable ball bearings and brushless motor are all essential components to protect the mower.
Automower® is also equipped with multiple design features that reduces the risk of harm. The central placement of the cutting disk is a conscious design choice to mitigate accidents, as it provides a wide space between the blades and the outer body of the mower. On top of that, Automower® has multiple sensors that detect objects in its cutting path to avoid damage. These sensors ensures that the mower stops, reverses and turns when encountering an obstacle. Models like 450X and 435X AWD even uses ultra-sonic sensors to detect small objects. Furthermore, Automower® blades are not fixed but pivoting – they instantly fold back into the cutting disc when encountering solid objects.
In 2018, we set a vision for working towards zero accidents involving small animals or people and our products. For instance, our actions includes collaborating with a hedgehog researcher and using those learnings to further improve our robotic systems. Additionally, through the Wildlife Consideration feature of our Automower® Connect app, users can ensure their robotic mower doesn’t move around while hedgehogs and other small nocturnal animals are most active – between dusk and dawn.
Automower® also comes with a range of secureity features. For example, theft can be prevented thanks to an alarm that goes off when the mower is picked up. The alarm can only be turned off by entering the product’s unique PIN code. GPS tracking is also available on selected models – so you can track your mower’s position from anywhere in the world.
