  SERC invites you to participate in active reflection and discussion on teaching practice with higher education colleagues from across the disciplines in an upcoming virtual community conversation series. The series aims to provide STEM faculty, lecturers, and teaching assistants with professional development around practices that are known to positively affect student success in undergraduate classrooms.

  SERC congratulates Kristin O'Connell on a recent article she co-authored in the Journal of Geoscience Education entitled 'A short-term critical zone geophysics program designed to recruit, retain, and foster community amongst 1st and 2nd year undergraduates historically marginalized in geosciences.'

• Strengthen Quantitative Skills in Your Earth Science Course
  

  Integrate more math and statistics into Earth science courses -- July 14-17, 2025 virtual workshop (1-3pm ET daily). "The Math Your Earth Science Majors Need" modules make learning quantitative skills easier. Participants receive a 400 USD stipend after completing the entire workshop. (40 USD fee)
