Severe weather potential looks to increase Friday and into Saturday across parts of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas, with Saturday featuring the best chance to see large hail, damaging winds, and depending on how the ingredients come together, tornadoes. Expect details to change as we get closer to Saturday. Keep checking forecasts throughout this week and take some time to dust off your severe weather safety plan - just in case.

Numerous to scattered light showers will continue through early evening. The majority of the measurable rains will be along and northwest of Interstate 44. Additional rainfall amounts will generally be less than one quarter inch.

The weather pattern for the next 7 days will support unseasonably warm temperatures through the week. Showers and thunderstorm chances return Friday through Sunday with potential for strong to severe storms.

The warm pattern likely continues into early next week with chances favoring above normal temperatures area wide. Rainfall amounts slightly favor above normal for mid October.
