Very nice quality-of-life improvement. Some minor nits/questions.
Also: Do you want to backmerge this to 3.0?

back merging seems fine since this doesn't even touch the driver. |

It seems like there was some incomplete merge/rebase, since the in-depth page now contains git conflict markers and commit hashes. @camillobruni revert and fix? |
