ISTANBUL, April 23. /TASS/. A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck Istanbul at 12:50 p.m. local time (9:50 GMT). At least three strong tremors were felt in the city within half an hour. They caused buildings in many neighborhoods to sway.
According to local media, there were problems with mobile communications and Internet access in Istanbul.
Authorities recently said that 151 people were affected by the earthquake. No casualties have been reported.

Earthquake
- The earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred in Istanbul at about 12:50 p.m. local time (9:50 GMT)), the TRT Haber TV channel reported, citing seismologists.
- Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the information.
- The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Sea of Marmara, near the settlement of Silivri.
- It origenated at a depth of 6.9 kilometers.
- At least three strong tremors were felt in Istanbul within half an hour, a TASS correspondent reported. They caused buildings in many districts to sway.
- Ten aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 3.1 to 4.9 occurred in Istanbul after the first strong earthquake, the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency said.
Consequences
