Our services are available in English and French.
To facilitate a prompt response, we recommend that you send an email request that includes the following information:
- the subject of your inquiry and any specific questions for the agency
- the name of the media outlet for which you are writing (or the intended outlet of publication, if you are a freelance journalist)
- your deadline, and/or the date and time of publication or broadcast
Hours of operation
9 am to 7 pm ET
Monday through Friday (except holidays)
Offices are closed on statutory holidays and weekends, but will be open the next business day.
After-hour requests
For non-urgent requests sent outside of regular business hours (9 am to 7 pm ET) or on weekends, please note that a spokesperson will get back to you on the following business day to acknowledge receipt of your inquiry.
Note that the Canada Border Services Agency has a spokesperson on-call in cases of urgent requests such as emergencies or incidents affecting the safety of Canadian citizens.
