New article on humid heat trends in the Southeast United States

The Carolinas Climate Adaptation Partnerships (CAP) team (C3HE) published a new study titled, “Cruel Summer (and Autumn): Humid Heat Trends, Extremes, and Mechanisms in the Southeast United States.” The warm and moist climate of the Southeast United States has seen an increase in frequency, intensity, and duration of humid heat along with similar climates across the globe. Amongst conversations on extreme heat and human health risks, humid heat can be a large factor in multiplying health risks by compromising human cooling mechanisms (sweating).
