DETROIT – The summer heat returns today through Monday as dry weather ensues. Although we likely won’t break a record, with highs into the 80s, we will be in record territory the next several days:
Current Record Highs at DTW:
- October 3: 89º (1953)
- October 4: 89º (1951)
- October 5: 88º (1951)
- October 6: 91º (1963)
Rain chances continue to rise on Tuesday with an approaching cold front. As much a we need the rain, this could unfortunately be impactful for the ALDS Game 3 at Comerica Park. First pitch is TBD, but worth mentioning that showers and even a few embedded thunderstorms are possible at this point on Tuesday afternoon. We are still several days out, so quite a bit of fine-tuning will occur to this part of the forecast. However, behind the front will be falling temperatures Wednesday, if not slightly below average, with highs in the lower 60s and lows in the 40s to upper 30s. If a Game 4 is needed, it will certainly feel more like October baseball. We will hold on to these temperatures through Thursday.
