At the beginning of the month, we celebrated the opening of Girlhood (It's complicated) with a ribbon cutting event at the Minnesota History Center. Very grateful for such an amazing partnership with Jena Holliday. We spent two session with incredibly brilliant young folks who learned about contemporary Black artist, such as Deborah Roberts, Christian Robinson, Al-Baseer, and Alma Thomas. The group engaged in a range of art forms, and connected it back to the Minnesota Historical Society archives! We are the artist and authors of our own stories. What a beautiful way for young folks to take that into their hands.
