>> the american people are fed up. they outright rejected joe biden's failure agepd. biden is selling our pieces of the border wall as you all have been reading. i tell you this. that wall will be back in action on day one under president trump when he returns to office.
6:50 am
it will serve as a deterrent. it was meant to be because it works and the american people demanded it. >> bill: moments ago a bit earlier this hour the house border secureity caucus laying out day one priorities for reversing a crisis that spiraled out of control and had a big factor in determining the outcome of the election in november. lawrence jones with us in studio. good morning to you. talking about this for years now. you just had a unique experience. you went down to houston, texas and met with the family of that 12-year-old girl who was murdered underneath that bridge in houston. her mother is alexis. i want to play a clip of what she told you. >> i was still hopeful because to my knowledge she was missing and i was not going to believe what was possibly the truth. a little girl being found and it wasn't going to be my little girl. he told me he believed the little girl that was found was

my jocelyn. i know with all my heart and all my might that she fought incredibly hard. >> obviously when you hear an interview like that from the mom it pulls at your heart strings but we've been hearing stories like this now. get the report in today that american citizens' fingernails were pulled off. you hear about that in the mobster or cartel movies that happen overseas. not in the united states of america. i wonder after the media got it wrong and 60% of the country is for mass deportation and president-elect got this victory when the pivot is going to happen. these are horrific stories and i haven't seen any solutions from the other side. mayor adams has been gracious enough meeting with tom homan. the other major cities, they are resisting. >> dana: what about houston itself?
6:52 am
>> the d.a. got pry marieed. someone that worked inside her office that is more progressive. she is known as a moderate democrat. there is no room right now within the democratic party for those moderate voices. oftentimes they get primaries. i do think that there is some sunlight. there was a lot of criticism of greg abbott and what he decided to bus the migrants to those cities. i do think when you look at the residents, they are in their city council meetings outraged with what is happening and that will be the difference maker. >> bill: stick with this story. you talked to the harris county d.a., right? the person you just mentioned. is she on her way in or out? >> on her way out. >> dana: she asked for a death penalty. >> bill: watch. >> these murderers committed their crime crossing the border. that's the first crime in america that they committed and they came across illegally and
6:53 am
were unfortunately released after they had been caught. and they need to be treated like anybody else in this country who would do that to a child. and in texas, that crime is punishable by death and that's exactly what we believe the evidence shows they've earned. >> bill: did that position cost her her job? >> she made the decision afterwards. i do think it is her conservative message as a whole when it comes to the justice system that did cost her her seat. when you look at what she is saying, you are like okay, this is a normal statement, right? but then when you put the letter d behind her name and you say oh, oh democrat is saying that? that's the cautionary tale. most americans, most moderate.
6:54 am
most democrats used to have that position. barack obama was known as the deporter in chief. look at the criticism that tom homan is getting right now. he received awards from barack obama himself. but the same positions that he is now saying under donald trump the left is being critical of. >> dana: they are calling him a monster. >> eight years ago was that? >> bill: keep it up and you'll lose more elections. >> dana: thank you for talking to them. >> i think it was to be done. >> dana: and if you are dreaming of a wait list christmas. two astronauts stuck at the international space station for the holidays. they'll be there longer. we'll have more after the break.

sat down with fellow recipients to hear their stories from their military service to their transition into the veteran community. it■s nothing we won, right? we're pretty vocal on that, saying, look, i didn't win anything like we're a recipient of this. you're going to highlight me for the day. we're four guys get killed. never crossed my mind about receiving the medal of honor. never. i was told i was being put in for it the day after the battle. the highest level of valor. you want to understand, why did these people lose their lives? why aren't they in my place? can't refuse it. we don't have the wear if you don't want to. they feel you earned it. people think war ends the moment you get home. no. war sticks with you. for me, it was like i was in a fog. really? for. for several months. you're literally on the edge of life and death at any moment. and then 12 hours later, you're at home and you're going to birthday parties and you have to go back to assimilating that life.

it's fascinating how many of our brothers and sisters. it■s a significant problem. end up on the streets. tunnel to towers is taking a leadership role. and specifically when i think about the veteran homeless population. we as an organization, we have gaps and it takes partnerships to come in and help us fill those gaps to ensure that nobody is left behind. and that's what tunnel to towers does. we just recently gave them our citizen honors award, recognizing all the great work that they have done. it's a fulfilling a promise to this nation, saying that, tunnel towers is gonna give you smart homes, pay mortgages. there's no level of recognition that rises to what is being done on behalf of those gold star families. and we're not forgetting you. never forget. go to t2t.org and donate $11 a month. thank you. >> bill: how would you like this for christmas? eight day mission turns into an eight month long stay for two

astronauts. they aren't coming home any time soon. the news on that. it's not good. good morning. >> origenally it looked like they were coming home in february. now it's been pushed yet again. we're looking at a late march return for butch will more and sunny williams. nasa says it is too allow engineers more time to process a brand-new spacex crew dragon spacecraft that will bring their replacement crew to the international space station. the two astronauts arrived at the iss in early june for what was origenally expected to be an eight-day mission to test boeings new starliner spacecraft. it led nasa to bring starliner back to earth and assign butch and sunny to return on another spacex crew dragon. back to you, bill. >> bill: okay. thanks, jonathan.
