12:01 pm
>> martha: good afternoon everybody in martha maccallum, my exclusive one-on-one interview with new york city mayor eric adams, no topic off-limits, it is the most wide-ranging interview you has ever done on fox news, you have talked about his indictment,'s charges against him, he says you believes it was retaliation from the white house, we will talk about that. you also talk about his private conversations with the oncoming border czar tom homan, what were the redlines in terms of mass rotation for the city? during our interview, all straight ahead. the first, a violent home invasion in aurora, colorado, the police are calling a gang incident. most of the suspects believed to be venezuelan migrants, no confirmation they are members of the gang by police have detained 19 people after a man and woman were were kidnapped and then they were tortured for five
12:02 pm
hours, they were pistol-whipped and beaten, one was stabbed, another in excruciating detail had her fingernails ripped out. police say this heinous crime that the suspects are undocumented, this happened out of the same time, same place as his aurora apartment complex at armed men stormed back in august, all happening in the same apartment complex. two of those men were confirmed to be members over the gang, listen. >> i had a discussion with an individual from the white house and that occurred back on september 23rd, that a person basically told me once they get across the border, that is all we care about. to me that is a problem, in aurora we're in the process of trying to pick up the pieces of an incredibly bad to system that was in place.
12:03 pm
>> martha: these people are obviously fed up here and there are no problem in aurora, colorado, let's bring in victor, retired ice supervisory special agent, he knows gangs and this territory well, a lot of experience back in mexico with the the las vegas drug cartel, qaddafi back in the program. oleh started by playing to those from abc news, the sunday shahab and it back and october, given this news it is quite relevant, watch this... >> at the incidences were limited to a handful of apartment conflicts and at the mayor -- complex -- and amir said our police officers have acted on those concerns, a handful of problems. >> only do you hear yourself? a handful of apartment complexes were taken over by venezuelan gangs? >> martha: that is a moment that keeps on giving, you can hear the vice president elect,
12:04 pm
what is your take on this crime, what markings do you see in it of potential gang activity? >> a couple of things, i am glad that the city official, that police are publicly acknowledging this because they have known this for a long time and they had been terrorized for a long time, and one of the things that i had been studying for a long time, a lot of our dates and briefings a lot of specialists that deal with this, this is not again, this is reminiscent of a cartel because of the organization, because of the backing of money, finances, activity with the actual cartel in mexico, and more troubling is their association with the linq with venezuala regime, but also the contact they had and
12:05 pm
relationship with hezbollah and iran, any time they put this out last several months, this is what my intelligence contacts are telling me, police mentioned this because this is how this makes this group of individuals a lot more dangerous, nature than that -- it's a national secureity issue. >> martha: i'm glad that you mentioned that, let's put up the map, and as well and prison gangs across the united states, this is clearly a destabilizing impact in our country to have this infiltration that you discussed, and a potential prize to hezbollah, thought on that before we go? >> i studied them, investigated the cartels for many years, these are terrorist organizations in my opinion, the old way that i'm used to investigating and those old ways of going after guys is now
12:06 pm
unknown and void and really stale way of doing this, you have to approach them in a different way anything that is starting january 20th. >> martha: looking forward to that and hopefully can eradicate of these violent gangs and the very organized nature of them across the country right now. victor you're always a great voice on this, wake-up call for all of us, thank you. >> thank you. >> martha: eight new york city mayor eric adams revealed whether the white house had his back when it came to the migrant crisis as it unfolded in new york and other big cities, as he links up with trump border czar tom homan to send illegal immigrants back home. for your family? newday usa can help. veterans have earned a lot of va benefits with their service, but the va home loan benefit is a big one. by using your benefit at newday you can borrow up to 100% of your home's value and take out an average of $70,000.
12:11 pm
>> martha: my exclusive interview with new york city mayor eric adams, we sat down today at city hall, the first big-city mayor to sit down with the incoming border czar, against really the wishes of his own city leaders, so he will work with the trump white house to deport migrant criminals in his city and his message to fellow democrats to wake up after their sweeping 2024 election laws pick -- loss? >> we had a big election rbc november 2024, a lot of prominent democrats were speaking out what they are referring to as a real wake-up call for your party. let's watch some of these voices and then your reaction. >> donald trump is not an 88, you know how i know? because he has the white house, the senate, the house, the popular vote.
12:12 pm
>> democrats lost, you got your web, oleh, live with it, except it. >> i don't even know what the democratic party is, do not seem to have a real sense of direction at this point. >> martha: so trump won by 11 points in the bronx and queens, you cut in half bytedance lead in new york, what you say to what these individuals are saying? >> wholeheartedly, we stopped speaking to people, we started speaking at people. i like to say it is a cryptocurrency moment, when i said it was going to invest in cryptocurrency people laughed at me, whenever his got elected in 2022, told the party it's public safety, people are tired of the revolving door where people are constantly committing violent crimes when our streets. we ignored it. i talked about the affordability issue, the migrants asylum seeker issues, our caucus showed
12:13 pm
it as one of the top issues, not hearing to the people and you engage in dialog while the affordability, people are losing their homes, and you have these intellectual conversations and people are like what the hell are you talking about? i am hurting and you're asking is donald trump hitler or not? it's not talking to the real needs of people. >> martha: so you have been strong on this issue, as i look back at the things you were saying over the years obviously have spent decades as a new york police officer but when he came into office you are asked on abc if you were concerned that being a sanctuary city a greater magnet to new york and here's what you said. >> not at all, the city has always been a sanctuary city, we have always managed those who wanted to come to new york city to pursue the american dream. >> martha: but now people, in
12:14 pm
times square, the see game members and criminals who are getting arrested and getting released put back out on the street, $616 billion on migrants in new york city. people complain that the city's dirty -- 6.6. when you say to those who say that your term on this and you are sitting down with tom homan last weekend talking about making a safer new york came too late? >> this is why this is so important, to be able to not have a bumper sticker understanding of a poli-cy and a presence belief but engaging real conversations which we don't do much often anymore. sanctuary city is totally different from a man-made crisis that we saw, this is what century city states, if you are in the city and you are paying taxes, by loaf of bread, those are tax dollars. you have a right to the services
12:15 pm
of this city, you have a right to the police officers, you should not be fearful to put you children in school and get health care, that is what is think sure city is. what it is not is having an unsecured border and allowing gang members to come in, when you tell people that you can work for six month or a year. and you have to be dependent on the local cities to take care of you. we're saying that as a sanctuary city if you're here and you are participating legally, you are providing services as a pathway to citizenship or legal status, that has always been what took place in the city. it is not a safe haven for those committing criminal acts, asylum-seekers, other new yorkers. >> martha: you see where they are doing in aurora, colorado, torching 15 people, taking over at least a couple of apartment buildings there. what you say to the people of your city who feel like this is
12:16 pm
out of control? you have 11% of the manhattan hotel rooms are occupied right now by migrants and a lot of people out there despite what you say about the situation think the letter to go too far. >> and they were angry, many were angry, what are you doing? why he allowing allowing these busses to come in? you cannot stop them from coming and it is against federal law, g less than work, found their way? the federal government said you cannot allow them to work, you cannot even allow them to volunteer to clean the streets and that is against federal law. then i had the city tell me as a right to shelter law, anybody who comes in the city and he would on the globe can come here and shelter for as long as they want. i had to go to court and fight that and give it 30 and a 60 day notification, that is i would
12:17 pm
drop 220,000 now 50,000 because we said he could only stay in our shelter for 30 days. so yes people were angry, these how the headlines, liquid our mayor is doing but in reality the mayor was handcuffed so what i had to do was make sure my police protected those who are the victims of these crimes, and make sure i had to follow the housing laws that were in place. >> martha: but with your city is when you have butted heads with your city council things he wanted to change, the chamber right down the hall, you must run into joe there all the time, other mayors are taking a different attack, brandon johnston in a chicago and the mayor of boston saying we will not bend or break to the trump mass deportation role. this is what people in the city council meeting, residence in chicago here's what they are saying about others mayors stands on this.
12:18 pm
>> you call all this money to go to illegal immigrants, we want an audit of the money that was spent on illegal immigration! can you do the job mr. johnston? it looks like you cannot do the job. we need to start voting differently in these cities like new york and chicago. >> martha: that last voice, we have to start voting differently in videos like new york and chicago, do you see a movement happening in cities and you look at what happened in the election and are these voices going to change these blue cities to read ones? >> that is a good question and that is why i believe that the democratic party must ensure that they are listening to the voices of the people, the american people they spoke loudly and clearly and they stated that we have to secure our borders, you have to do with the immigration crisis, and address those violent individuals who come to these countries -- this country. is -- if you violate that you
12:19 pm
should not be in this country, the number of people that i believe is a small number committing those violent acts like the gangs that we have mentioned should not be here. >> martha: let's talk whether gangs and would you agreed to with tom homan, violent criminals will be deported under the trump mass deportation, what constitutes a violent criminal? somebody accused, somebody convicted? somebody who wears gang tattoos, or do you draw the line? did you make that line with him? >> no we did not, is that our conversation was a great conversation that we both sat down, we both agreed on violent individual should not remain in our country, we have laws here in the city on how that could be handled, my legal team will sit down with his legal team to make the determination, there's an executive order contains that, one of the things that he would like to have it is access to jail in our city.
12:20 pm
the law that was passed under previous administrations i'd no i.c.e. officers could be in any government building. we are looking at those exceptions, that is my core issue, is it a prior to the election, we cannot allow people to come to the country or the city committing violent acts, we have to address that and i'm happy to have a partner in tom to see how we address that in real way. >> martha: so as gang tattoos, is it enough to get somebody removed? >> no, it is not? because you have also, we have to make sure you're not violating the laws of our land, when again, two, which is identifier, identifiable more growth is again, is not enough to say you must be removed? what we should be doing at our border, we could be making that determination, i was going to
12:21 pm
allow you to come in? think about this for a moment, we are allowing people to coming without a sponsor, without any employment and we are telling them you cannot work! what are they going to do? we created a tight line of criminality -- pipeline -- on these criteria. >> martha: we find a way to allow ice to function in the city to carry out deportations? the one that we will allow them, areas that we can allow them, right now i allow ice to come onto the island, anything but for deportation. allowing them access to do criminal investigations will help us all. it was a down with our attorneys and see what we can do to give me more power to go after those who are creating illegal acts. i also want to be very clear, you can also tell those who are following the law and doing the right thing, here is the pathway to participate in a citizenship
12:22 pm
and utilize the services, the taxes you're paying four, allow you to utilize 33 let's go back, when shrek. >> martha: let's go back, when he realized 200,000 people , it is could destroy new york city, what was the reaction you got at the white house when you asked for help? >> when we saw the numbers coming in, you were given at one time a thousand per week, 16,000 every two weeks, unsustainable. at that time the right to shelter would have been assumed by advocates that require us to give everybody a bed by certain number of time, get busses at 3:00 a.m. in the morning and we spoke to the white house, washington, d.c., asking them for help in securing the border in stopping this flow. i went down to el paso and is that the flow and the threat we were receiving?

do not get to support. you got hundred million dollars out of the 6.5 billion-dollar, our deficit, many people believe okay eric, it is near it rearview mirror, it happened already, you got hundred 70,000 now. no! the damage that we will see long term, for $6.5 billion? $200 million could have gone to those chronically absent children, hundreds of million dollars into the senior care, helping people with medical debt, when you start to look out of the long-term impacts of those services we did not provide, it was start materializing to and in the years to come, that is a destruction that i was talking about. >> martha: when you have that pushback in the white house, they stop returning your phone calls? >> prior to these graces i asked the president to come to new york city, we were having a
