Sophomore All-American sprinter Weston White ran the fastest 100-meter time in NJCAA Division III this season and went on to finish third in the finals as the four-time NJCAA champion Chaparrals competed at Elmhurst's Chicagoland Outdoor Championships Friday through Sunday.
 
White ran his season's best 10.71 in the preliminaries and then went on to finish third in the finals at 10.89 seconds.
 
He also ran a leg on the second-place 4 x 100 relay in 42.19 seconds, just off COD's best this season of 41.83 run in St. Louis last month.
 
Landon Zimmy's 22.08-effort in the 200 was fifth and ranks third in D3. He also ran second leg on the 4 x 100 relay that was comprised of White (lead), Elijah Phipps (third), and Owen Fitzgerald (anchor).
  
Freshman steeplechaser John Buchanan ran 10:30.88 in his event, ranking third in D3.
 
Freshman John Tarpeh competed in the discus, and threw a No. 2-ranked 37.76 meters (123 feet, 11 inches).
 
Freshman William Kallas, this past week's NJCAA athlete of the week, finished second in the pole vault at 4.50 m (14-9).
 
The Chaps are at Wheaton on Saturday.
