Call for Presentations

Presentation proposals for training sessions are now being accepted for consideration. All proposals must be submitted online no later than Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 23:59 CST (extended deadline).

Presentations can be intended for any experience level, from beginner to advanced, and can cover a wide range of topics including but not limited to:

  • Crime or intelligence analysis case studies - these are not restricted to tactical analysis; they can include special projects, redistricting, workload allocations or anything similar.
  • Investigative or analytical techniques.
  • Statistical analysis.
  • Analyzing specialty datasets, such as geolocation data, unstructured text, etc.
  • Hands-on computer training – this can include anything from MS Excel, MS Access, crime mapping, Crystal Reports, SQL, Power BI, creating dashboards, or similar computer-based programs. If your presentation is designed for a computer lab, please specify in your proposal.

Members from outside the United States are encouraged to submit presentations. With a large contingent of members and attendees from Latin American countries, the IACA are especially interested in having several presentations in Spanish.

Criteria

  • Presentations are generally 50 minutes in length. If you can teach a two (2) hour class, please indicate in your submission.
  • You can have one (1) primary speaker and three (3) co-speakers. Once you choose your primary speaker, there are no changes/substitutions to the submission.
  • Each speaker is only allowed to present a total of two (2) times per conference which includes as a primary, secondary or additional speaker.
  • The primary speaker receives reduced registration of $250 and one (1) night hotel per speaking engagement (for a maximum of two (2) nights). The primary speaker must book at the Conference hotel to receive this benefit. Co-speakers still need to cover their own registration and hotel expenses.
    • The $250 registration fee is allocated to offset the expenses for food and beverages for the primary presenter during the event. The reduced fee allows us to maintain a positive conference experience for all attendees as we continue to increase opportunities for learning and networking.
  • You need permission from your agency to present and attend the conference before submitting.
  • Presentations from exhibitors will be through our exhibitor team. Contact [email protected] for more information.
  • Presentations are evaluated based on the abstract submitted, and the speaker’s background and work experience.

If selected, each presenter will also need to submit a headshot (256 x 256 px) and a personal bio (2000 characters) through the speaker portal.
