The digital platform has emerged to be a complex sphere of contestations. In the Indian context, the ubiquitous practice of building personality cults and the gathering of followers or bhakts allowed public figures to easily transition to the social media format to push their agendas. Self-professed gurus and government officials exploited the platform, generating click-bait posts that often displayed a total disregard for constitutional rights and fact-checking. Faced with an ever-increasing spread of misinformation, satire became one of the central ways for concerned citizens to express dissent. Several satirical narratives sprung up to expose the hegemonic narratives. These counter narratives fought the initial attempts to quell them through tactics of anonymity and subversion of the system and went on to become cult figures in their own right. The format of the digital media allowed for them to garner quick following and the digital sphere is now a battle ground between these contending narratives. In this context, the current paper attempts to understand the digital public sphere and the role of satire through the case of the Facebook fan-page called Unofficial Subramaniam Swamy. This case presents an interesting instance to study the nature of the public sphere allowed for by the format of social media.

In cognitive radio system, the secondary users can use the frequency bands when the primary users are not present. Therefore, the secondary users need to sense the channel periodically. When the primary users are detected, the secondary users have to stop using that channel. This makes the probability of detection important to the cognitive radio system. However, detection is compromised when a secondary user experiences fading. The simulation results show that the detection probability of Rayleigh fading channel is 10dB worse than the additive white Gaussian noise channel. The cooperative schemes have been shown to improve the performance in MIMO system. In this paper, we will discover weather the cooperative scheme can improve the probability of detection. The results indicate that with only a few users in cooperation, the detection probability can be increased by 40% in fading channel at low SNR.

We introduce a three-dimensional (3D) semi-implicit complementary volume numerical scheme for solving the level set formulation of (Riemannian) mean curvature flow problem. We apply the scheme to segmentation of objects (with interrupted edges) in 3D images. The method is unconditionally stable and efficient regarding computational times. The study of its experimental order of convergence on 3D examples shows its second order accuracy for smooth solutions and first order accuracy for highly singular solutions with vanishing gradients as arising in image segmentation.

The aim of this study was to compare the effects of residential multifactorial cardiac rehabilitation, outpatient multifactorial rehabilitation, stress management, and standard coronary rehabilitation, on cardiac risk reduction. Out of 144 eligible male patients recently treated with percantaneous transluminal coronary angiography (PTCA), coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), or acute myocardial infarction (AMI), 132 were randomized into this study. All interventions covered a 12-month active intervention, intense during the first months and subsequently leveled out. Main assessments were performed before randomization and after the intervention. Patients offered behavioral rehabilitation showed improved selfreported healthy diet habits and exercise frequency, and higher internal locus of control. Although blood lipids, exercise capacity, body mass, anxiety, depression, and Type A scores were changed in the expected direction, no significant difference emerged between active intervention and the standard care condition. Standard care of today appears to have great potential in particular if supplemented with some kind of stress management.

The objective of this paper was identifying QTL that affect fat and protein yields in dairy sheep independently of milk yield. Data were collected in an experimental flock of 887 ewes organized in a daughter design. QTL detection focused on OAR7 where 13 microsatellites were available. The genetic abilities to produce fat and protein independently from the ability to produce milk were estimated as the residuals of the regression of EBV for fat and protein yields on EBV for milk yield. One QTL affecting fat yield (CWP=0.00009) and one QTL affecting protein yield (CWP=0.006) were detected. The most probable QTL location was 115.3 cM in the Sheep Best Position Linkage Map Version 4.7 for both traits. No QTL affecting milk yield was detected. The analysis of fat and protein yields independently of milk yield is an effective strategy to identify chromosomal regions affecting milk composition with no detrimental effect on milk yield.

Estimates of prekallikrein levels in plasma specimens from patients with migraine and from healthy individuals were obtained by determining the henzoyl-argininc ethyl ester (BAEc) csterase activities developed on activation with kaolin, as suggested hy C o l m n n (1969a, h ) . No difference was registered between the pro-cstcrasc levels in the patient and in the control material, and kinetic data provided no evidence of a difference in inhibitor levels. Only vcry lorn RAEe esterase activity was registered in samples of cerebrospinal fluid ohtained from the patients and no significant difference between attacks and free intervals was detected. When citrated EDTA-treated plasma was activated with aectone-incnhated normal plasma containing prekallikrcin activator (factor XIIf), no significant difference in RAEe esterase activity was noticed between plasma from the patients and t h a t from the control persons. When, however, citratcd plasma without EDTA was uscd, a significantly higher peak level of esterase activity was registered in the patient plasma. This observation might suggest the presence of a factor positioned between active factor XI1 and prekalliltrein, and present in higher amounts in plasma from patients with migraine than in healthy individuals. Reports in the literature attacks of migraine are on the possible participation of ltiiiins in contradictory. In CSF from patients with migraine, Chapman & Wolff (1959) detected during attacks a substance capable of releasing kinin-like activity in plasma, and Cliapnian et al. (1960) claimed the presence in perivascular tissue fluid from the temple pain area of such a substance as well as of free kinin-like activity. Othcr authors were not able to confirm these observations
