  • Learn the key features of IPython for interactive analysis
  • NumPy arrays
    • Define arrays and perform common manipulations
    • Basic array slicing
    • Documentation and tutorials for further work
  • Develop a script that extracts a 1-d spectrum from a 2-d longslit image
  • Gain familiarity with tools available within the SciPy package
