Did you know that the Cranbrook Art Museum is open late every Thursday with free admission? Now you do! Currently, the museum features a new exhibit along with two ongoing ones that you can explore during your visit. If visiting on a Thursday doesn’t fit your schedule, you can also come by from 11 AM to 5 PM on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for an admission fee of $6 to $10.

The Basement Show is actually not in a basement at all. See some of Detroit’s favorite local underground comedians this Saturday at Ghost Light for an inclusive variety show presented by Julia LeBrell & Jason Brent. Each show features stand-up comedy, storytelling, and a lot more. This month features Isaac Coenca, Skylar Courtney, Joe Aasim, Lisa Green, Skippy Rose and live music from Andrea Doria.

Fun Fest is back at Frog Island Park this Saturday for their 5th year! This free festival offers live music all day, a variety of vendors, art, food trucks, all-age activities, circus arts and more! Motown Museum
Did you know August 9th is Bass Day? In celebration of 40 years in the making, the Motown Museum is honoring legendary Motown bass player, James Jamerson, Museum founder Esther Gordy Edwards and 40 years of Motown Museum with 40 Detroit bassists taking the stage for a one-of-a-kind Plug & Play Mega Jam, performing 10 classic Motown hits that shaped the sound of a generation. Bootsy Collins will also be making a special appearance.
4th Annual Women Who Drum Festival

The beat goes on! The Women Who Drum Festival is back for its 4th groovy year at Black Bottom Park. To bring more visibility to women drummers and bandleaders, the festival will showcase some of Metro Detroit’s best female drummers.
