Currently, the museum features a new exhibit along with two ongoing ones that you can explore during your visit. If visiting on a Thursday doesn’t fit your schedule, you can also come by from 11 AM to 5 PM on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for an admission fee of $6 to $10.

Mussel Beach Music Festival

From Thursday to Monday, Cadieux Café will be hosting its annual Mussel Beach Music Festival in its outdoor biergarten! The Cadieux Café is known for feather bowling, Belgian specialties, and, most notably, their steamed mussels. The festival kicks off on Thursday night with performances by the Gashounds, Whiskey Charmers, and Blueflowers. Music will continue through Labor Day, featuring blues, rock, and roots bands, including Jim McCarty & Mystery Train on Saturday and the Muggs on Sunday.

Arts, Beats and Eats is returning this Labor Day weekend with an exciting lineup of events. As always, there will be plenty of art, multiple music stages, over 50 food vendors, and even some interactive experiences for the entire family. This four-day event will feature more than 200 musical acts, ranging from national headliners to local talent. In addition, attendees can enjoy a wide variety of food options and art exhibits showcasing both local and national artists. This year’s headlining acts include Sugar Ray, Hoobastank, and Vanilla Ice.

The largest free jazz festival in the world is held annually over Labor Day weekend right here in Downtown Detroit. The Detroit Jazz Festival features a wide range of performances on multiple stages, highlighting exceptional talent from local, national, and international artists, including student musicians and late-night jam sessions. Various stages are located throughout the festival, such as the Absopure Waterfront Stage at Hart Plaza and the Detroit Jazz Hall at Wayne State University, along with other venues in downtown and midtown Detroit.
