Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship

If you graduated from high school or earned a GED in 2023, you may qualify for up to $4,000 over two years, if you plan to study one of the following eligible career training programs:

• Certified Nursing Aide
• Computer Support Technician
• Electric Vehicle Technician
• Emergency Medical Services - EMT Certificate of Achievement
• Health Care Administration - Certificate
• Medical Assisting - Certificate
• Medical Assisting - Medical Insurance Coding and Billing - Certificate of Achievement
• Medical Assisting - Phlebotomy - Certificate of Achievement
• PLC and Robotic Technician
• Sterile Processing Technician

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, you:

• are a Michigan resident since July 1 of the previous calendar year
• have a parent who is a Michigan resident since July 1 of the previous calendar year, if you are a dependent child
• graduated from high school in Michigan with a diploma or a certificate of completion or achieved a high school equivalency certificate in 2023 or later
• have not yet earned an associate or bachelor’s degree
• have not yet earned a degree, certificate, or other credential with this scholarship

Note* The MASS program is administrated through the department that host the training. Please contact the department where the training program is located for more details.

How to Apply

Step 1: Complete the Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship application in the MiSSG Student Portal by logging in or creating an account to start the application. 
Step 2: Be enrolled or enroll in an eligible career training program.
Note: You will need to show proof of a high school diploma.
