Put-in-Bay Educational Experiences

Each year, the Aquatic Visitor Center on Put-in-Bay & Stone Laboratory on Gibraltar Island attract more than 175 groups and 5500 people to experience hands-on classes and Lake Erie ecology/field trips. The Aquatic Center offers educational guided tours of the historic fish hatchery. Put-in-Bay student groups will learn about the complex Lake Erie ecosystem and current Lake research by getting a first-hand look at live fish. Stone Lab science workshops range from water sampling on a research vessel to dissecting fish and identifying aquatic microorganisms. Groups can schedule one day or overnight workshops May through October.
