A strong late-season winter storm will bring widespread accumulating snow across Utah and southwest Wyoming from Thursday into Friday. Heavy snow is expected for all area mountains, with snow beginning early Thursday afternoon and continuing into Friday morning. Valleys will see precipitation begin as rain, before a strong cold front brings a rapid transition to snow late afternoon/early evening. Most precipitation tapers off by early Friday morning. However, some lake enhanced showers may lead to continued shower activity across the eastern Salt Lake Valley into Davis County, as well as the northern Wasatch on Friday morning.
A cold storm system will track through Utah and southwest Wyoming Thursday into Friday, bringing potentially significant snow to the mountains of Utah. Snow will be heaviest with the passage of a cold front late Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.
A potent cold system is on track to bring accumulating snowfall to valley locations across Utah. Valley rain is expected to rapidly transition to snow behind a cold front passage Thursday afternoon/evening, which may impact the evening commute.
