Last Map Update: Mon, Oct 13, 2025 at 4:32:21 am MDT

The next batch of showers and thunderstorms will spread into the region today and Tuesday with locally heavy rainfall possible.
Recent and expected rainfall will push the Animas and San Juan Rivers in northwest New Mexico toward bankfull status (Action Stage) late Tuesday into early Wednesday. River flooding is not expected at this time, but banks can become unstable and erode rapidly. Please avoid recreational activties in the river during these high flows!
Colder air moving into the region later this week will bring low temperatures more typical of mid October.
A few storms may become strong on Monday and Tuesday. The main threats will be hail and gusty winds. Storm motion will be toward the northeast around 25 to 40 mph both days.
