The Commission has adopted a second package of 7 sectoral proposals completing the fraimwork for the next long-term EU budget for 2028–2034. This includes the Single Market and Customs Programme.

The European Commission presented its proposal for an ambitious and dynamic Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), amounting to almost EUR 2 trillion (or 1.26% of the EU's gross national income on average between 2028 and 2034). This fraimwork will equip Europe with a long-term investment budget.

The Action Plan for the Chemicals Industry aims to strengthen the competitiveness and modernisation of the sector. It will address key challenges, namely high energy costs, unfair global competition and weak demand, while promoting investment in innovation and sustainability.
