Citizenship & Community Engagement
We harness our employees' collective passions to improve the communities in which we live and work.
SAIC is committed to giving back to our local communities. We build strong and lasting partnerships with nonprofit organizations in our three focus areas: military and veteran resiliency, STEM learning and community wellness. Our employees and their families are passionate about causes that matter, and we are proud of the creativity and energy they put into philanthropic efforts.
Community WellNESS
SAIC is committed to ensuring our communities remain healthy and strong. We partner with Feeding America, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Women's Center to help those in our communities who need it the most.
As part of Hunger Action Month that occurs annually in September, SAIC locations across the country deck out in orange and participate in Feeding America's Give-A-Meal Team Challenge. Since 2013, SAIC has donated approximately 25 million meals in our quest to end hunger.
Our partnership with the Women’s Center supports the organization's commitment to providing essential resources, counseling and education to the diverse communities it serves.
Military and Veteran Resiliency
SAIC is proud to serve our military and veterans, who make up about 30% of our workforce. We provide smooth transitions into civilian careers while supporting organizations that help military families succeed during every step in their journeys.
SAIC has helped donate 18 homes to our military heroes and raised nearly $840,000 through our decade-long partnership with Building Homes for Heroes. BHH builds and modifies homes and then gifts them mortgage-free to severely injured veterans and their families. SAIC employees play a big role in our BHH partnership as volunteers, preparing each home before it is gifted and making direct contributions.
SAIC employees proudly support USO’s Project Elf and provide holiday gifts for hundreds of junior enlisted children every year.
STEM learning
SAIC is addressing the talent gap and workforce needs in solving our nation's most complex modernization and readiness challenges. From supporting experiential learning activities for K-12 students to providing an array of professional development opportunities for our employees, we are an advocate for lifelong science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.
We have made a $1.5 million commitment to the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering (ASCTE) towards its mission of educating the future cyber technology and engineering workforce. Situated near SAIC's Huntsville location, ASCTE is one of Alabama’s leading STEM high schools.
Since 2017, we have provided 18 STEM scholarships through the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation in helping the organization support some of the very best STEM college students and its mission to maintain U.S. leadership in science and technology.
