The 105th Annual Meeting of American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) is going to be held at the Seattle Convention Center, Seattle, WA, USA from May 2 to 5, 2025: https://events.aats.org/am25.

As the world's most prestigious thoracic surgery event, the annual meeting of AATS helps grow one’s expertise, network with leading experts, and build the future of thoracic surgery.

This year Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) as well as its sister journals and books published by AME Publishing Company will be on display during this exciting academic event! We would like to seize this great opportunity to meet our authors, editorial board members and readers.

VATS Annual Report (2024)

Till December 31, 2024, VATS has a total of 50 Editorial Board Members from 9 countries. 43 articles have been published last year with 44% Review Article, 23% Case Report, 16% Surgical Technique, 10% Original Article and 7% Editorial. Corresponding authors came from 9 countries, with mostly from USA and Japan. According to the Google Analytics, VATS drew the attention of 38,652 visitors and accumulated 98,885 pageviews in the past year, with the majority coming from the USA, followed by UK, India, China, Canada and Australia. VATS features a distinguished editorial board, the members of which continue to instill the power of their expertise for the journal’s development. We are pleased to announce that Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) has attained its latest impact factor for the 2023 citation year: 0.3.

We are pleased to announce that the Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) has received its 2023 CiteScore: 0.4, ranking 455 out of 551 journals in the Surgery category.

Furthermore, we are delighted to highlight the remarkable achievements made by all AME journals in the CiteScore ranking.

Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access electronic journal reporting the cutting-edge findings and application of video-assisted thoracic surgery, including but not limited to biopsy, esophagus surgery (esophagectomy), hiatal hernia repair, lung surgery, procedures to remove excess fluid or air from the area around the lungs, surgery to relieve excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), surgery to relieve gastroesophageal reflux disease, thymus gland removal surgery (thymectomy). The techniques of VATS include but are not be limited to multiportal VATS, uniportal VATS, robotic VATS and tubeless VATS.
